Journals & Course Evaluations

Journal entry by Joel
The students were required to keep a daily journal that included both writing On the Body As Landscape (where each day’s focus was on a different sense: touch, taste, smell, sight, heart, mind, hearing) as well as open-ended writings about any aspect of that particular day. Journals included stream of consciousness entries, detailed descriptions of wildlife observations, photographs, illustrations, pressed plants, decorations with natural objects and plant dyes, dialogs and poems that showed the magnitude of the impact that this program had on their lives.

Selections from the journals, including pictures of journal pages and photos of locations mentioned in the entries as well as some of the anonymous end-of-course evaluations are presented here with permission of the participants.
